iMPORTANT: The V-beltfoundon yourtractoris speciallydesigned
to engageand disengagesafely.A substitute(non-OEM)V-beltcan
be dangerousby notdisengagingcompletely.Fora properworking
machine,useidentical equipmentbeltsas listedin the parts pagesof
this Operator'sManual.
Tochangeor replacethe deck belt on yourtractor,proceedas follows:
1.
Removethe deck as instructed e arlier inthis section.
2.
Removethe beltcoversfrom the spindlepulleysby removing the
hexscrewsthat fastenthecoversto the deck.See Fig. 22,
3.
It mayalso be necessaryto loosen the hex nuton the left idler
pulleyto getthe belt off the pulleyand aroundthe beltguard.
4.
Carefullyremovethe deck beltfrom aroundthe two spindle
pulleysand thetwo deck idler pulleys,See Fig, 22,
5.
Toplacethe newbelt, begin by routingthe belt aroundthe two
outerspindlepulleysas shownin Fig, 22,
6.
Thenroutethe beltaroundthe two deck idlerpulleysas shownin
Fig. 22.
7.
Retightenthe belt keeperrodloosenedearlier.
8.
Remountthebelt guardsremovedearlier,
9.
Re-installthedeck, makingsurethe belt remainsroutedaround
the pulleysas instructed. Thecompletebelt routingisshownin
Fig. 22.
10. Pull the rightside ofthe belt,and placethe narrowV side of the
belt intothe PTOpulley.
11. Whileholdingthe belt and pulleytogether,rotatethe pulleyto the
left. Continueholdingand rotatingthe pulleyand belt untilthe belt
is fully rolledinto the PTOpulley.
PARKING
BRAKE
ADJUSTMENT
Neverattemptto adjustthe brakeswhiletheengineis running. A lways
disengagePTO(bladeengagelever),moveshift leverintoneutral
position,stopengineand removekeyto preventunintended starting.
If the tractordoesnot cometo a completestop whenthe clutch-brake
pedal is completelydepressed,or if the tractor'srearwheelscan roll
with the parkingbrakeapplied,the brakeis in need of adjustment.
