SAFETY iNTERLOCK SYSTEM
Thesafety interlock s ystemisdesignedfor safe operationof thetrac-
tor. If this systemshouldever malfunction, d o not operatethe tractor,
immediately contact 1-800-4-MY-HOME to havethe systemserviced.
• Thesafety interlocksystempreventsthe engine fromstarting
unlessthe parkingbrakeis engagedand the PTO(Blade Engage)
leveris in thedisengaged(OFF)position.
Thesafety interlock s ystemwill automatically shut off the engine if
the operatorleavesthe seat beforeengagingthe parkingbrake.
Thesafety interlocksystemwill automatically shut off the engine
ifthe operatorleavesthe tractor'sseat with the PTO(Blade
Engage)leverengaged,regardlessof whetherthe parkingbrake
is engaged.
REVERSE CAUTION MODE
Use extremecautionwhileoperatingthetractorin the REVERSE
CAUTIONMODE.Alwayslookdownand behindbeforeand while
backing.Do notoperatethe tractorwhenchildrenor othersare
around.Stopthe tractorimmediately if someoneentersthe area.
The REVERSE CAUTIONMODEpositionof the key switchmodule
allowsthe tractorto be operatedin reversewith the blades(PTO)
engaged.
IMPORTANT: Mowingin reverseis not recommended.
Touse the REVERSE CAUTIONMODE:
IMPORTANT: The operatorMUSTbe seatedin the tractorseat.
1. Startengineas instructed underthe heading StartingTheEngine.
2. Turnthe key from the NORMALMOWING(Green)positionto the
REVERSE CAUTIONMODE(Yellow)positionof the keyswitch
module.See Figure8.
3. Depressthe REVERSE PUSHBUTTON(Orange,Triangular
Button)at the top, rightcornerof the key switchmodule.The red
indicatorlight at the top, left cornerof the key switchmodulewill
be ON whileactivated.See Figure8.
4. Onceactivated(indicatorlightON), the tractorcan be drivenin
reversewith the cuttingblades(PTO)engaged.

5. Alwayslookdownand behindbeforeand while backingto make

6. After resumingforwardmotion,returnthe key to the NORMAL
MOWING position.
IMPORTANT: The REVERSE CAUTIONMODEwill remainactivated
until:
a.
The key is placedin eitherthe NORMALMOWINGposition
or STOPposition.
b. The operatorengagesthe parkingbrakeby fullydepressing
the parkingbrakepedaland holdingit downwhile movingthe
speedcontrolleverinto the PARKBRAKEposition.
ENGAGING THE PARKING BRAKE
To engage the parking brake:
1. Fullydepressthe parkingparkingbrakepedal and hold itdown
with yourfoot.
2. Movethe parkingbrakeleverall the waydownand intothe
parkingbrake(ON)position.
3. Releasethe parkingparkingbrakepedal to allowthe parking
braketo engage.
To release the parking brake:
1. Depressthe parkingparkingbrakepedaland movethe parking
brakeleverout of the parkingbrake(ON) positionand intothe
OFFposition.
SETTING THE CUTTING HEIGHT
Selectthe heightpositionof the cuttingdeck by placingthe deck
lift leverin anyof the six differentcutting heightnotcheson the
rightsideof the fender.
Adjust thedeck wheelsso that they are between1A-inch a nd
1/2-inch abovethe groundwhenthe tractoris on a smooth,flat
surfacesuch as a driveway.

shoulderboltthat secureseachwheeland movingit intoone
of the holesthat allowsthe wheelsto be between_A-inch and
