Table 8.1 Wild card Symbol
Indicates any entered digits.
Indicates that the preceding digit occurred zero or more times.
Indicates that the preceding digit occurred one or more times.
Indicates a match to the beginning of the string.
Can be used with a single character with no other
significance(matching that character).
Indicates that the preceding digit occurred zero or one time.
Indicate a range. A range is a sequence of characters enclosed in the
brackets; only numeric characters from 0 to 9 are allowed in the range.
Indicate a pattern and are the same as the regular expression rule.
The only wild card symbol usable in both answer-address and
incoming-called-number is period(.).
