Troubleshooting

Before sending the unit for repair, check the following points.
Symptom
Power is not
Is the power cord disconnected?
supplied
Is the lamp cover properly shut?
Has the lamp life expired (has the
lamp usage time reached 2000
hours)?
Projected
Is the lamp near exhaustion?
image is dark
Is Power Save on the setting menu
set to On ?
Unit works
Are the air suction openings (air
inlets) and exhaust vents blocked?
when the
power is

Are the filters dirty?

Are devices properly connected?

Is the lens cap removed?

Probable Cause
Corrective Action
Insert the power cord (plug) properly.
Remove the plug when the [STAND
BY] indicator is on. Close the lamp
cover properly and insert the plug
again.
Remove the plug when the [STAND
BY] indicator is on. Install a new lamp
(lamp unit). Upon doing so, insert the
plug. Reset the lamp time after
installing a new lamp (lamp unit).
Check the lamp usage time on the
menu. Prepare a new lamp (lamp
unit) or replace as soon as possible
when the lamp is near exhaustion.
Set the Power Save setting to
Off .
Remove the plug when the [STAND
BY] indicator is on. Remove any
blocking object. Upon doing so, insert
the plug.
Clean the filters.
Connect devices correctly.
Remove the lens cap.
Set connected devices correctly.
Press the [HIDE] button to display the
video image again.
Adjust accordingly using the focus
button.
Set the unit at a correct distance from
the screen.
Set the Mask setting of the (Setup)
menu to Off .
Alter the Picture Shift value in the
Setup menu to ensure that images
are not missing.
