B. Remove the Shipping Materials
Remove shipping materials from inside or underneath the
fi rebox. Remove metal panels covering electrical compo-
nents on sides of appliance.
C. Inspect Firebox
Surface cracking or crazing of fi rebrick material is normal
and expected. All cracks are acceptable and do not require
replacement of the unit or the fi rebox with the exception of:
• Cracks compromising the surface plane of the fi rebox.
See Figure 11.5.

D. Clean the Appliance
Clean/vacuum any sawdust that may have accumulated
inside the fi rebox or underneath in the control cavity.
E. Accessories
Install approved accessories per instructions included
with accessories. Contact your dealer for a list of ap-
proved accessories.
