TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Electronic Gas Control System
NOTE: Service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or your gas supplier.
BEFORE TROUBLESHOOTING THE UNIT:
1. Confirm there is power to the unit (fireplace).
2. Confirm there is gas to the unit (fireplace).
3. The igniter module in the fireplace is equipped with a device that can put the unit into a lockout state. Follow the steps in the chart below to reset the
control: Turn the ON/REMOTE/OFF switch to the OFF position, or turn the remote to the OFF position.
4. If this is the first time that the unit has been fired, check the wiring of the unit against the wiring diagram before commencing troubleshooting.
SYMPTOM
Nothing happens when the fireplace
is turned ON/OFF.
The main burner does not light and
the igniter is sparking.
The burner lights, then immediately
goes out.

*The unit may have multiple gas supply shutoffs (the main gas supply valve in the house, the gas supply valve in the fireplace
control compartment, and/or an additional shutoff valve near the fireplace).

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Remote control system is not functioning
properly.
Unit is not receiving power.
Gas is not reaching the fireplace.
Gas is not reaching the fireplace.
Loose wires to the valve.
Loose wires to ignition module.
Air in the gas line.
Gas is not reaching the fireplace.
Loose wires to the valve or ignition module.
Pilot flame is not engulfing the sensor.
Obstructed vent system.
Flame impingement on the top log.
Improper Air shutter opening.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
To use the remote control system, the Wall ON/
REMOTE/OFF switch must be set to REMOTE.
Manually operate the fireplace using the Wall ON/
REMOTE/OFF switch.
Replace the batteries in the handheld remote and/or
behind the Wall ON/REMOTE/OFF switch plate.
Check/replace batteries behind the wall switchplate.
Check building circuit breakers to ensure power is on
to the fireplace.
Check the gas supply and gas shutoff valves (call a
service technician, if required).*

Check control compartment for any obvious loose
