4. Place the brake washer in the recess in starter
pulley; over the center shaft.
5. Lubricate the brake spring sparingly with
grease. Place the spring on the plain washer.
Make sure the threads in the center shaft remain
clean, dry, and free of grease and oil.
6. Apply a small amount of Loctite
threads of the center screw. Install the center
screw with the washer and retainer to the
center shaft. Torque the screw to 7.4-8.5 N·m
(65-75 in. lb.).
