Troubleshooting

If you are experiencing issues with your Optus TV Set Top Box to work then check some of the tips
below or the online troubleshooting guide at optus.com.au/optustv/help before you contact Optus
TV Customer Care for assistance.
1. Make sure the power cord is correctly inserted, there is power available at the wall power point,
and that the rear Power switch is on.
2. C heck that the A/V connections are securely made and, if necessary, try another connection mode.
3. Make sure the TV display is selected to the correct AV input and mode.
4. Double-check that the broadband connection is active. The Net light on the Set Top Box should be
lit. If using an Ethernet connection, also check that the indicator lights on your modem are on. If
using Powerline Adaptors, check the status lights on the adaptors.
5. If the Set Top Box button on the remote control does not flash when a button is pressed, check the
following:
>
Press the Set Top Box button to activate this mode.

Ensure the remote control light on the Set Top Box flashes when any button is pressed on the
remote control while in Set Top Box mode.
>
Use the remote control within six metres maximum from the Set Top Box.
>
Change batteries in the remote control.
6. If the Set Top Box is not recording or replaying on command, listen to make sure the internal hard
drive is working.
7. Reboot the Set Top Box by turning it off, waiting 10 seconds, and turning it on again. Wait 30
seconds before trying this sequence again.
