Power o n t he C amRanger a nd c onfirm a ll f our l ights b riefly a ppear. T he C amRanger w ill t ake
approximately 3 0 s econds u ntil i t i s f ully i nitialized.
The f irst t ime t he u ser c onnects t o t he C amRanger f rom a W indows c omputer, t he c omputer n eeds
to b e r egistered. S ee t he C amRanger R egistration s ection a bove.
Once r egistered, c onnect t o t he C amRanger W iFi n etwork o n t he c omputer. T he n etwork n ame w ill
be C amRanger-­‐###, w ith t he l ast t hree c haracters m atching t he l ast 3 c haracters o f t he C amRanger's
serial n umber. E nter t he n etwork p assword, w hich i s t he f ull 8 c haracters o f t he C amRanger's s erial
number. T he p assword M UST B E E NTERED I N A LL C APS.
Connect t he C amRanger t o t he c amera w ith t he p rovided b lack U SB c able. ( Note: u nits p urchased
through r etailers w ill h ave a U SB m ini c able, w hich w ill w ork w ith m ost c ameras. A f ew s elect N ikons
use a d ifferent c able, w hich m ay b e p urchased s eparately o r t he c able t hat c ame w ith t he c amera w ill
also w ork) T he m ale A e nd i s i nserted i nto t he U SB p ort a t t he e nd o f t he C amRanger, a nd t he o ther
end i s c onnected t o t he U SB p ort o f t he c amera. T hen e nsure t he c amera i s t urned o n. W hen t he
camera i s c onnected a nd t urned o n, t he g reen l ight c losest t o t he e dge o f t he C amRanger d evice w ill
light.
Launch t he C amRanger W indows a pplication. T he a pplication w ill c onnect t o t he C amRanger a nd t he
user w ill b e a ble t o c ontrol t he c amera. T o a ttempt t o m anually i nitiate a c onnection, o n t he
Windows C amRanger m enu b ar, c lick " Connection" a nd t hen " Connect."
