Hardware Overview
The hard disk drive is very sensitive to physical shock. Even slight movements
of the unit can cause loss of data or damage to the hard disk.
For this reason, the system support platforms must be very stable and capable
of absorbing shocks without allowing damage to the system.

lists the environmental specifications for SIMATIC PCS 7 OSx.

Locate your control room in an area where vibration and noise
interference are minimal.
