Power Package Recommissioning

To prevent possible injury or damage to equipment, do not install battery until all maintenance has
been performed on engine.
Refer to FLUSHING COOLING SYSTEM before starting engine.

Verify that all cooling system hoses are connected and tight and all drain plugs are installed and tight.
IMPORTANT: Before launching boat, pull up on manual release valve. Verify that green indicators are
no longer extended.

Pull up on manual release valve to release pressure from the drain system.
Manual release valve may not close completely. Ensure valve is completely seated.

Verify that air actuator and water drain system pressure indicators have returned to the closed position and
that the manual relief valve is completely closed.

Inspect serpentine drive belt condition and tension. Refer to Serpentine Drive Belt.

Perform all lubrication and maintenance specified for completion Annually in maintenance schedule, except
items which were performed at time of engine layup.
When installing battery (in next step), be sure to connect positive battery cable to positive (+) terminal
and negative (grounded) battery cable to negative (–) battery terminal. If battery cables are reversed,
damage to electrical system WILL result.

Install fully charged battery. Clean battery cable clamps and terminals to help retard corrosion. Coat terminal
connections with a battery terminal anti-corrosion agent.
DO NOT operate engine without cooling water being supplied to seawater pickup pump or water pump
impeller will be damaged and subsequent overheating damage to engine may result.

Start engine and closely observe instrumentation to ensure that all systems are functioning properly.

Carefully inspect entire engine for fuel, oil, water and exhaust leaks.

Check steering system, shift and throttle controls for proper operation.
