Preparation for Storage

Refer to Safety Precautions on page 69.
1. Change the engine oil and filter (page 93).
2. Make sure the cooling system is filled with a 50/50% antifreeze
solution (page 103).
3. Fill the fuel tank. Make sure the fuel fill cap is properly installed.
4. To prevent rusting in the cylinders, perform the following:
• Disconnect the spark plug cap from the spark plug.
• Remove the spark plug.
Do not connect the spark plug to the spark plug cap.
• Pour a tablespoon (15 20 cc) of clean engine oil into the cylinder
and cover the spark plug hole with a piece of cloth.
• Turn the ignition switch to the START ( ) position and crank the
engine several times to distribute the oil.
• Reinstall the spark plug and spark plug cap.
