How long is the Cleaning Cycle?
Scooping, washing and sanitizing take 17 minutes. Drying takes
an additional 17 minutes.
When does the wash water start to fill the CatGenie?
After the GenieHand scoops out the solids, water slowly flows
into the Bowl.
Can the CatGenie be stopped while it is cleaning?
Yes. To stop the CatGenie, simply press the Start Cycle/Pause
Button at any time during cleaning. If left in Pause Mode for more
than 10 minutes, Pause will cancel and your CatGenie will auto-
matically resume its cleaning cycle.
Is the SaniSolution
cleaning solution safe for my cat?
Yes, the SaniSolution cleaning solution is safe for cats. Its unique
formula uses active ingredients similar to the cleaning solutions
and disinfectants used by veterinarians in their operating areas.
How long does the SaniSolution last?
One SaniSolution Smart Cartridge is good for 60 cleaning cycles.
CatGenie beeps and lights when 10 cycles remain and again
when 3 remain. CatGenie can not operate without a Cartridge.
Best to always have extra SaniSolution Cartridges on hand.
Does the SaniSolution dissolve or liquefy the solids?
No. The solids are turned into wastewater by the action of the
Impeller, which is inside the Hopper. The SaniSolution washes
and disinfects the Washable Granules and Bowl.
Can I refill the SaniSolution Smart Cartridge?
No, the Cartridge cannot be refilled. The Smart Cartridge unique
mechanism dispenses the exact amount of solution used for each
of the 3 washes per Cleaning Cycle, as each wash requires a
different quantity. The SaniSolution washes away odor-causing
materials, aids in drying, and protects the CatGenie mechanism.

What happens if my cat is in the CatGenie when it is set
to start automatically?
The CatGenie has sensors, GenieEyes, which delay the
cleaning cycle until your cat is safely out of the unit.
Will my water bill increase by using the CatGenie?
There will be no significant increase in your water bill. Running a
CatGenie is equivalent to a few additional toilet flushes each day.
Where does the wastewater go when it leaves the unit?
Wastewater drains safely out of your home into the sewer pipe.
In a bathroom, the CatGenie hose hooks over the toilet rim. The
waste into a toilet. In a laundry, waste goes into the drain pipe.
If I put my CatGenie in the laundry room, will the
wastewater come in contact with my clothes?
No. When properly hooked into the washing machine drainpipe,
wastewater from the CatGenie can not comes in contact with
laundry. The drainpipe connects directly into sewer or septic tank.
If I put the CatGenie in my bathroom, can the toilet be used
during a cleaning cycle?
Yes. The CatGenie does not interfere with toilet use. Toilet seats
have feet (check yours) so DrainHose Hook can not be crushed.
Will the toilet overflow with wastewater draining into it?
No. The water level in toilets is set to maintain a constant, safe
level. Water in a toilet automatically lowers to its preset level
and will not overflow unless your toilet is clogged.
What happens if solids stick to the GenieHand?
During all three washings, the GenieHand gets scrubbed clean
by the action of water, SaniSolution, and Washable Granules. If
for some extraordinary reason, the GenieHand is not completely
cleaned, it will be resolved during the next cleaning cycle.
Do the Washable Granules
No, the unique, cat-safe Washable Granules are completely
non-absorbent. Unlike traditional litter, the Washable Granules
are thoroughly washed each day. Their function is to fulfill your
cat's need to dig and cover.
Do the Washable Granules ever have to be replaced?
No. Granules need to be replenished not replaced. However, for
your cat's comfort and optimum CatGenie operation, you will
need to add Granules every so often to keep Granules filled to
the level indicated inside the Bowl. Some Granules are lost by
clinging to solids or from cats flinging them out of the Bowl.
What happens if the Washable Granules are swallowed?
The Granules are non-toxic for both cats and humans and can
easily pass through all digestive systems.
