Medium-speed range
When the engine speed reaches the medium
range, the SSV opens and intake air from the
secondary port begins. Due to this, the intake air
amount increases, improving torque at the engine
medium-speed range.
Medium-to-high-speed range
When the engine speed reaches the medium-
tohigh range, the VFAD (with VFAD) and APV
open.
When the VFAD valve (with VFAD) opens, intake
air resistance is reduced by the shortening of air
length in the fresh-air duct pipe.
When the APV opens, air from all intake ports is
fed, improving torque at the medium-to-high-
speed range.
