function is very helpfull. Check dialling by
this method allows you to detect wrong
numbers and busy parties also.
With the listening-in alternative,

Remember:

Activates monitoring
Make your selection
Your entry
(or alphabet dial number, or one-touch
dial number)
Dialling starts
If another fax machine can be heard
(beep)
Confirm with START
The connection is established (for
procedure, see page 25, Automatic fax
transmission).
If no connection is established,
press the STOP key to
disconnect the fax machine
from the line.
