FRU Installation

1 Gb FC Switch With 4.02.4x Firmware

2 Gb FC Switch With 2.0.0.x Firmware

Read and perform the procedures in this document before you install the Sun

StorEdge Network 1 Gb or 2 Gb FC switch field-replaceable unit (FRU).

Caution – Before you install the switch FRU, use the following

procedure to confirm that the firmware version of the FRU matches

the firmware version of the Sun StorEdge Network 1 Gb or 2 Gb FC

switch (hereafter referred to as the "FC switch") it is replacing.

To Conﬁrm the Existing FC Switch Firmware

1. Establish a Telnet connection to the FC switch.

a. If required, connect an Ethernet cable between the FC switch and your

workstation (the host).

b. Open a command-line window.

c. Establish a Telnet session to the FC switch.

# telnet FC-switch-IP-address
