thesameprecautionsasmentionedinthewoofer
installationsection.Terminatethewireswiththe
supplied2.8mmmalecrimpableconnectors.

Thedometweeterssuppliedwithyour
C3-525systemhavebeendesignedformaximum
mountingversatilityinacomponentconfiguration.
Therearetwoprimarymethodsbywhichthe
tweeterscanbemountedinyourvehicle:

Flush-mount Installation

Thedometweeterssuppliedwithyour
C3-525systemhavebeendesignedtointegratewith
yourinstallationinaclean,unobtrusivemanner
usingaflush-mountcup.Thiscompactmounting
fixtureisinstalledusingthemethodillustratedin
DiagramKandrequiresamountingholewitha
diameterof1.875in.(47.6mm).
Atleast1.70-inch(43.2mm)ofclearanceis
requiredbehindthemountingsurfaceofthetweeter
forthespringclipsand1-inchmachinescrews
usedinmountingthefixture.Inlimiteddepth
applications,itmaybenecessarytocutdownthe
lengthofthemachinescrew,ortouseashorterscrew
(notsupplied).Hand-tightenthemachinescrewuntil
thefixtureissecure(SeeDiagramK).

surface-mount Installation

Inthisapplication,youwillnotneedtocut
largeholesinyourvehicle'spanelsforthetweeters.
Youwillonlyneedtodrillaholeforthewiresand
twosmallerholesforthemountingscrews.This
applicationisusefulwhenmountingthetweetersto
apanelthathasinsufficientclearancebehinditfor
thetweeter'smagnetstructure.
Usingthefixtureasatemplate,markthescrew
holelocationsandalocationinthecenterofthe
fixtureforthewirehole.Removethefixtureand
drillpilotholesforthescrewsanda1/4-inch(6.4
mm)forthewires.Usethesupplied#6x1.00-inch
sheetmetalscrewstosecurethefixtureasshownin
DiagramL.Next,routethetweeter'spositive(+)and
negative(-)wireleadsthroughthe1/4-inchcenter
hole.Thetweeterissecuredtothefixtureusinga
simplebayonet(twistandlock)mechanism.Toattach
thetweetertothesurface-mountfixture,observethe
indentedlockingslotsontheouteredgeofthetweeter
bodyandalignthesewiththetabsvisibleonthe
insidewallsofthefixture.Thetweetershouldslide
intoplaceeasilyandcanthenbelockedbypushing
downonthetweeterandgivingitasmallclockwise
turn(SeeDiagramL).
