Chapter 1. Overview The Kodak Prosper S10 Printer is a module of the Kodak Prosper S10 Imprinting System, that accepts data in bitmap format as input and makes printed images on a substrate, as output. Images can have fixed text, variable text, and graphics.
• On/Off switch • Electrical protection Fluid System The Prosper S10 fluid system is used for these functions: • Supply ink and replenisher fluids to the ink tank and storage fluid to the storage fluid tank. • Heat/cool the ink supplied to the PIC box/jetting module.
Chapter 1. Overview Fluid System Smart Card Reader The print station gets ink data from the smart card reader, which it uses to implement the Ink Compatibility Assurance Program (ICAP). The ink card, supplied with each ink container, inputs the data into the control and monitoring system.
The state of the control signals is dependent on commands from the software, input from the system controller, or input from transducers and sensors. Contact a Kodak service technician for maintenance on the control and monitoring system. Kodak Prosper S10 Printer...
Operators will do maintenance for the HEPA filters, printhead air filter, and the dry shutdown valve (vacuum bleed) filter. Contact a Kodak service technician for other maintenance on the PIC box.
Interface Board (DIB) and the fluid inlet and outlet are correctly positioned for correct fluid flow. See Kodak Prosper S10 Jetting Module Replace and Pack Guide for procedures on how to replace, pack, install, uninstall, and clean the jetting module.
This chapter gives common operator procedures for the S10 Printer: • Turn the power on and off • Correct Print Defects—See Kodak Prosper S10 Imprinting System Basic Operations Guide • Replace the fluid containers—See “Fluid Container Replacement” on page 17 •...

CAUTION Do not lift up on the eyelid seal. It can be easily knocked out of alignment and damage can occur. 5. Swab the eyelid (see “Eyelid Seal Clean” in Kodak Prosper S10 Imprinting System Basic Operations Guide). WARNING Pinch hazard can cause damage to hands and fingers at these places: •...
Chapter 3. Printer Maintenance This chapter gives operator procedures necessary for printer maintenance. Operator maintenance procedures prevent problems and make sure that the printer remains fully operational. Cleaning and replacement times for the filters change with each printing environment. If there is a lot of paper dust, a dirty environment, or a continuous run time (24/7), it can be necessary to change the filters more frequently.
Chapter 3. Printer Maintenance Inspection Inspection This section gives the areas to inspect for wear, dirt, paper dust, and ink. Print Station On the print station, examine the external areas weekly to make sure that they are clean and not damaged (Figure 17). Figure 17 Print station External surfaces...
1. Wipe off the cabinet exterior and connector panel with a clean, dry spec wipe (PN 0204647) to remove dirt and paper dust. 2. If necessary, put on Kodak-approved gloves, wet a spec wipe (PN 0204647) with storage fluid (PN 6080012-01) and wipe the cabinet exterior to remove ink.

Chapter 3. Printer Maintenance Cleaning WARNING Make sure that compressed air does not make contact with skin or eyes. Wear safety glasses at all times when compressed air is used. Serious injury to personnel can occur. CAUTION Clean the filters away from the print station so that the dust does not get into the print station.
Put the top/bottom or left/right side of the filter into the bracket. c. Push up/down or left/right on the filter until the edge slips under a bracket. 5. Close the print station front door. Figure 21 Print station air filters Top/Bottom edge Filters Left/Right edge Kodak Prosper S10 Printer...
