NOTICE: To use Hugga-Rack on Series 5 Broilmaster, it will be necessary to remove or push aside some lava stone so
that Hugga-Rack may rotate.
DANGER: This appliance is equipped with a three-prong (grounding) plug for your protection against shock hazard and
should be plugged directly into a properly grounded three-prong receptacle. Do not cut or remove the grounding prong
from this plug.
DANGER: The grill must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes, or in the absence of local codes, with
the National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70, latest edition. Failure to adequately ground the grill may lead to risk of
electrical shock or death.
1. Attach bracket (9) to outside of grill casting with two Phillips head screws and square nuts.
2. Slide motor (8) onto bracket; make sure motor is vertical. If motor is not mounted vertically, it will not operate
properly.
3. Thread hex nut (12) about 1 inch onto threaded end of each Hugga-Rack spit rod (5).
4. Screw spit rods horizontally into each side of center frame (7) . The length of Hugga-Rack may be adjusted to fit
your grill by the depth spit rods are screwed into center frame.
5. Thread hex nut about 3/8 inch onto end of each threaded rod (6).
6. Screw rods vertically into center frame. Tighten hex nuts securely against center frame so that threaded rods are
locked in place.
7. Insert center frame into motor. Slide Hugga-Rack sleeve (3) over the other spit rod until it will rest in the slot in
casting. Adjust spit rods if necessary so that center frame is centered in grill cavity. Tighten sleeve with 8 -32
screws.
8. Slide one Hugga-Rack grid (2) or one grid basket (1) (10) over two threaded rods. Screw a wing nut (11) onto each
threaded rod so that grid or basket is spaced about one-half of meat thickness away from center frame.
9. Rotate center frame so that first grid is to the bottom. Place meat in center frame grid.
10. Slide second Hugga-Rack grid or grid basket over threaded rods and fasten with wing nuts.
11. Adjust as necessary so that meat is balanced and tightly held. Set wing nuts tightly to allow for meat shrinkage
during cooking.
12. Plug motor into proper receptacle and turn it on. If motor sound is not steady or load appears unbalanced, adjust
load until a steady sound and balanced rotation is accomplished. An unbalanced load will severely strain the motor
and may cause permanent damage.
13. Light grill and adjust as necessary for cooking. Check periodically during cooking for balance and tighten wing nuts
if necessary.
CAUTION: Hugga-Rack will get very hot during cooking. Do not touch with bare hands.
WARNING: Hugga-Rack gets very hot during cooking. Do not touch any part of it with bare hands. Wear oven mitts or
use other protection.
1. Turn grill flame off.
2. Rotate the center frame so that threaded rods are vertical; turn motor off.
3. Remove one wing nut and loosen the other so that top grid can be swung to one side for access to meat.
4. When entire Hugga-Rack is cool, it may be removed and disassembled if necessary.
