The furnace has three elements, one 5kw and 2 2.5 kw. The issue is that the unit isn’t kicking out much heat. I checked the load on all three elements and there is only load on one of the 2.5kw elements and that one is drawing 19.5 amps. What are the possible solutions?

Possible solutions for a Stelpro SEF series furnace with one 2.5 kW element drawing 19.5 amps and insufficient heat output:
1. Check the Thermostat - Ensure the thermostat is correctly set and functioning. - Verify that the thermostat is level, calibrated, and located properly. - If applicable, inspect the heat anticipator for correct settings or damage.
2. Inspect the Airflow - Check for duct obstructions or dirty filters that may be triggering thermal protection and reducing heating efficiency. - Ensure the blower fan is functioning properly to distribute heat.
3. Confirm Electrical Supply - Verify that the furnace is receiving proper voltage and that the circuit breaker or fuse is appropriate for the load.
4. Evaluate Heating Element - If the heating element is defective, consider replacing it with a compatible part from the replacement component list (e.g., ELF-SEF0221 for 2 x 2.5 kW).
If the issue persists after these checks, cut off power at the main electrical panel and contact customer service.
