Chapter 3. Using the tape drive

The following illustration shows the front panel of the tape drive.
The following table describes the Power LED on the tape drive front panel.
The following table describes the fault, clean, and media LEDs.

The tape drive power is on, and either there is no tape cartridge
installed, or the tape is not moving.

A tape cartridge is loading, or the tape is in motion.

Description
One of the following:
v The format of the tape cartridge is unsupported.
v The type of tape cartridge is unsupported.
v The tape cartridge is damaged.
A DLT1 (DLT VS 80) formatted DLTtape IV tape
cartridge is loaded.
An error has occurred. Clean the tape drive and retry
the operation. If the problem continues, replace the tape
cartridge and retry the operation. If the problem
continues, replace the tape drive. See "Removing a tape
drive" on page 15 for more information.
