Testing the Single Sequential Safety Trip Mechanism
For greater safety and ease of operation, the Brad Nailer should only fire one time
when both the Trigger (43) is pulled and Driver Guide (51) is depressed. To test this func-
tion:
1.
Disconnect the Brad Nailer from the air supply.
2.
Empty all Brads out of the Magazine Assembly (73).
3.
Ensure that the Trigger (43) and Driver Guide (51) move freely, without sticking.
Caution Always point the Brad Nailer at a piece of scrap material when testing.
4.
The Brad Nailer should not fire if the Driver Guide is not depressed against the
workpiece.
5.
Connect the air supply to the Air Inlet (72) and set the regulator at 90 PSI.
6.
Test the Brad Nailer by depressing the Driver Guide against a piece of scrap mate-
rial. The Brad Nailer should not
fire. If it does fire, stop work im-
mediately and have the tool re-
paired by a qualified service
technician.
7.
Further test the Brad Nailer by
pulling the Brad Nailer back
from the piece of scrap material.
The Driver Guide should always
return to the original position.
Squeeze the Trigger (43). If the
tool fires, stop work immediately
and have the tool repaired by a
qualified service technician.
8.
Depress the Driver Guide against
the scrap material and pull the
Trigger. The Brad Nailer should
fire only once. With the Trigger still held, lift the Brad Nailer and press it against the
scrap material again. The tool should not fire. If the Brad Nailer fails to perform in
the manner described above, stop work immediately and have the tool repaired by
a qualified service technician.
