Possible Causes
Not unusual during
periods of high humidity.
Too frequent or too
long door openings.
Food too close to air vent.
Refrigerator control is set
too cold.
Rollers need adjusting.
No power at outlet.
Light bulb burned out.
Hinge and/or gasket needs
lubrication.
This is normal if, after popping
open, the freezer door/drawer
closed on its own.
Freezer door/drawer is open.
Freezer door/drawer was
opened shortly after icemaker
was installed.
Freezer door left open for an
extended period, then opened
and closed frequently soon after.
Not enough water pressure
to icemaker water valve.
What To Do
• Wipe surface dry and reset the refrigerator control
one setting colder.
• Move the food away from the air vent (near the controls).
• Move the refrigerator control to a warmer temperature.
•See Preparing to Install the Refrigerator.
• Replace fuse or reset the breaker.
•See Replacing the light bulbs.
• This indicates that there is a good seal on the freezer
door/drawer. If the freezer door/drawer does not
automatically close after popping open, then see the
Problem: Door/drawer does not close by itself, above.
• This is normal. Power to the icemaker is interrupted
when the freezer door/drawer is open to prevent ice
from ejecting and dropping into the back of the freezer.
To check if icemaker is working properly, press the
freezer light switch located on the upper right side
of the freezer. The green power light will come on.
• Clean up spill, then shut the freezer door/drawer and
do not open for approximately 4 hours. This will allow
the freezer to reach the correct operating temperature
for making ice.
• Because of door openings, freezer could not maintain
the correct operating temperature for making ice. Clean
up spill, then shut the freezer door/drawer and do not
open for approximately 4 hours.
• Collar type self-piercing water valves are not
recommended unless a 1/4" hole is predrilled in home
water line. See Installing the Water Line instructions in
the Icemaker Accessory Kit Installation Instructions.
