    The electric motor has been designed for 230V and 240V only. Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate. Note: The supply of 230V and 240V on Ozito tools are interchangeable for Australia and New Zealand.

    ASSEMBLY WARNING! Before assembly, make sure that the lawn edger is switched off and unpluged. Assembling the telecopic shaft to the motor housing Align the grove on the lower shaft (6) with the lug in the motor housing (7) (Fig. 1). Take care not to damage the cable while aligning the lower shaft (6).

    OPERATION Preparing The Lawn Edger For Use WARNING! The lawn edger runs for a few seconds after the switch has been released. Let the motor come to a complete standstill before setting the tool down. Telescopic Shaft Adjustment The lawn edger can be adjusted to suit the height of the operator. Loosen the telescopic locking collar (5) by rotating in a anti-clockwise direction.
  • Page 10 OPERATION ( cont Switching ON For your safety the lawn edger is designed with a lock-off safety switch (1) and dual safety levers (3). If only one lever is squeezed, the lawn edger will not operate. This prevents accidental start up of the lawn edger. CAUTION: To avoid kickback of the lawn edger, tilt the handle down sufficiently so the blade does not in contact the ground before switching On.

    OPERATION ( cont Slowly raise the handle to lower the cutting blade (10) within the edge to be cut. Walk forward slowly, keeping the cutting blade (10) pressed lightly against the edge to be cut. If the lawn edger begins to slow down due to a build up of grass in the blade guard (11), walk back slightly to allow the grass to fall out and let the cutting blade (10) return to normal speed before continuing forward.
