Intended Use in Medical Environment

The MDview Series color displays are intended to be used for secondary diagnostics and review of medical images by trained
physicians.
Unpacking, Installation and calibration of this display should only be done by authorized and trained personnel. Any installation
done by a non-authorized person is done under his own risk and we accept no responsibility in any device malfunctioning.
WARNING:
- MDview Series Displays are not certifi ed as Medical Devices according to EU Directive 92/43/EC.
- DO NOT use a MDview 232/243/272 display in patient vicinity.
- Any use for primary diagnostics is the sole responsibility of the hospital or clinic operator only.
MDview Series Displays may be used as a component within a medical system or a PACS diagnostics workstation. Any required
re-certifi cation process to comply with the EU directive 92/42/EC for medical devices is however within the responsibility of the
system/workstation supplier.

MDview 232/243/272 Product Features

These MDview Series models come with a factory preset DICOM like gamma correction enabled. This option provides an
essential improvement for viewing DICOM compliant medical images. However, this option cannot completely substitute a
true DICOM Part 14 GSDF curve.
Internal programmable 14-bit LUTs allows true DICOM GSDF calibration via software and calibration instrument, complying
with the DICOM Part 14 standard. For DICOM calibration, NEC's GammaCompMD QA Client software is required.
Improved Spatial Uniformity using Digital Uniformity Control (DUC).
Meeting the visual requirements as "AAPM TG18 Secondary Display".
Meeting the visual requirements of acceptance tests and constancy tests under DIN V 6868-57 Category B.
Quick warm-up time.
DisplayPort and HDMI, which support 10-bit color depth.
Picture-in-picture/picture-by-picture split-screen mode.
USB hub with two upstream ports.
Small footprint design.
Shipping content includes a Software/Utility DVD with:
GammaCompMD QA Client calibration software.
NEC tested and approved display controller drivers.

NOTE:
To prevent any un-intentional de-adjustment of optimum settings and calibrated values, NEC Display Solutions
Europe highly recommends the activation of the "OSD LOCK OUT with no control" function within the display's
On-Screen-Display (OSD). This operation is described on page 21 of this document.
