Medical applications

diCOM mode
diCOM stands for "digital imaging and Communications in Medicine". The
diCOM standard enables the exchange and viewing of the same image infor-
mation on different output devices with the same inherent image content and
quality. Both NeC's MuLTeOS models and the MultiSync
the diCOM mode to allow the standardised reproduction of medical images.
The displays are therefore also ideal as a light box simulator in lecture halls or
medical demo rooms, to enable a reliable electronic system for viewings.
GammaCompMd QA compatibility
From July 2008, using the GammaComp Md software NeC's MultiSync
20 series and MuLTeOS series public displays will be able reproduce image
content calibrated to the diCOM standard, which is even more exact than the
20 series come with
user-defined diCOM mode.

This means, for example, the following functions can be performed:
White luminance calibration, including calibration of the colour
coordinates
Checking black/white luminance
Grey scale calibration according to diCOM, section 14, including
uploading the display's look-up-table (LuT).
Common alignment of several screens (max.5) connected to a
workstation.
Furthermore, the GammaComp Md QA software allows reporting of all the
data and completed modifications made to installed displays, as well as
quality assurance (QA) in line with the iPeM/AAPM TG 18 and diNV6868-57
standards.
