Replacing the LSI RAID Battery Backup Unit or SuperCap Power Module

This server supports installation of two RAID battery backup units (BBUs) or SuperCap Power Modules
(SCPMs). The units mount to clips on the removable air baffle (see
If you are replacing a BBU on an older card, order the iBBU09 battery backup unit (UCS-RAID-BBU=).
Note
The newer SuperCap power module is not compatible with older, non-CacheVault cards.
The SCPM provides approximately 3 years of backup for the disk write-back cache DRAM in the case
of sudden power loss by offloading the cache to the NAND flash.
Warning
There is danger of explosion if the battery is replaced incorrectly. Replace the battery only with the
same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used batteries according to
the manufacturer's instructions.
