Defining the print area for trimming or masking
The trimming and manual masking procedures are the same. Use the
following procedures for either feature.
Trimming ― automatically masks the non-image area when
the image is printed/scanned.
Masking ― prints/scans only the image outside the area that
is defined on the screen.
1. Press the Masking key to select Trimming or Manual Masking.

Once you are in the Manual Masking mode, the lights on the Vertical
and Horizontal Area Indication Panel will light according to the
currently selected paper size and print position. You can print the area
specified by the green lights, or change it.
2. Define the end points for both the vertical and horizontal areas of the
displayed image using the green lights. You can define the vertical
and horizontal areas in any order.
NOTE: Blinking lights on the indication panels indicate an improper entry
of the specified area. If the lights are blinking, specify the area
again.
To clear a defined print area:
Press the Vertical or Horizontal Area Clear keys.
