Printing the test image provided on the ColorShot CD is a quick way to
determine whether image quality problems are caused by (a) the printer,
software or film, or (b) by the image processing application settings or the
characteristics of the image being printed.
The PEGTEST program is designed for troubleshooting image quality problems.
If, for example, the printer has been printing satisfactory pictures in the past and
starts exhibiting image quality problems such as inaccurate colors.
PEGTEST is not designed to verify or troubleshoot communication with the
printer or printer driver operation. In fact, PEGTEST may produce satisfactory
images even when communication or printer driver problems exist. For a more
realistic test of these problems, use the procedure for printing test images on
page 31 of ColorShot User's Guide
