6 Using IQA to enhance picture quality

When the IQA Technology box is checked (enabled) on the Device Options tab
of the Polaroid ColorShot Properties box, the ColorShot printer driver applies
Polaroid's IQA image enhancement to the picture being printed. IQA
automatically evaluates the colors in the image file and automatically makes any
corrections necessary to assure that the colors in the printed picture match those
appearing on the monitor when the picture is displayed.
IQA improves the quality and visual appeal of most pictures. In some cases,
however, the customer may obtain better results with IQA disabled. Here are
some examples:
· Pictures with highly saturated colors. (IQA may exaggerate the saturation and
produce an unnatural or undesirable effect.)
· Pictures with highlight detail that must be preserved, such as medical images.
(IQA may apply correction to the highlights and reduce the amount of visible
detail.)
