The DX8 can be easily converted to mode 1, 2, 3, or 4. This conversion requires
a mechanical and a programming change. (Stick and switch positions for mode
1 and 2 are illustrated on pages 8 and 9.) Following are detailed instructions on
making mode changes
Mechanical conversion is required to switch between modes 1 and 2 or between
modes 3 and 4. The centering spring for elevator and the friction straps for
throttle must be engaged on the appropriate gimbal and throttle limiting wedges
must be swapped.
Step 1. Carefully pull back the rear grips and side rubber panels and unscrew
the six Phillips head screws shown.
Step 2. Remove the back case noting that a wire harness connects the back
to the main case. Carefully set the main case to the left side of the
transmitter being careful not to damage the wire harness.
(Cages are pictured in white for clarification. The cages
in your transmitter are black.)
Step 3. Locate the silver throttle friction straps on both gimbals. Two straps are
located on each gimbal. One strap engages a serrated section on the
gimbal giving a ratcheted throttle feel while the other strap engages a
smooth section on the gimbal giving a smooth friction feel.
