ROOM SETUP
A 5.1 surround sound system consists of 5 separate speakers and one
subwoofer. The LCR used in the centre channel position is designed to
reproduce most of the dialogue or solo performances. The front left and
right speakers reproduce the left/right stereo information and special
effects. The rear left and right speakers reproduce special effects.
Try to get all 3 front speakers equidistant from the listening position and in
the same plane, for example along a back wall which may be present just
behind the viewing screen or TV cabinet.
The front centre speaker should be mounted either above or below the
screen. It may be mounted behind a projector screen only if the screen is
acoustically transparent.
