  • Page 2 POWER SUPPLY The Salter Brecknell 402 is powered either by 6 - 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries (not included) or via the mains using a power adapter. To fit the batteries, remove the compartment cover on the underside of the scale, place the 6 AA batteries in the spaces provided and engage the cover clip.

UP ARROW Scrolls up through the display menu to select the required denomination of coin or weighing mode. DOWN ARROW Scrolls down through the display menu to select the required denomination of coin or weighing mode.

  • Page 5 When the Salter Brecknell 402 is initially switched on, the scale operation will default to weighing mode. Weighing mode can also be selected by pressing the up/down arrow TOGGLE keys, until no annunciator is displayed. Press the ON/TARE key to switch on the scale and/or to zero the display.
  • Page 6 CURRENCY CHANGE INSTRUCTION AND INFORMATION The Salter Brecknell 402 currency information is contained in an EPROM module. This is a pre-programmed memory device that is mounted on a plug in the printed circuit board. In the event of a coin change, contact the Salter Brecknell Sales Department at the address below for information regarding new EPROM modules.
