Removing the Button Cover
(User-Replaceable)
Required Equipment
• Small Phillips screwdriver.
Removal Procedure
1. Unplug the AC adapter, if present, and then remove the battery.
2. Remove these additional assemblies:
• Keyboard cover/speaker assembly (page 2-11).
• Keyboard (page 2-13).
3. Carefully disconnect the lid switch cable from the button cover.
4. Remove the screws that secure the button cover to the top case.
5. Carefully remove the button cover from the top case, and then disconnect the underside
motherboard cable.
