The Radio Data System (RDS) is a broadcasting service that
allows stations to send additional information along with
the regular radio programme signal.

Tune in an FM RDS station (page 29).
Example:
PS (Programme Service name: FM station name)
appears on the first line of the display, and frequency
is displayed on the second line.
< When there is no PS data, frequency displayed on the
first line, and "NO PS" appears on the second line.

Press the RDS button.
Each press of the RDS button changes the second
line of the display:
1 Frequency
2 PTY (Programme Type)
3 RT (Radio Text)
4 CT (Clock Time)
Frequency
This displays the channel and frequency of the currently
receiving broadcast.
Example:

PTY (Programme Type)
When you select PTY, the programme type will be
displayed.
If there is no PTY data, "NO PTY" will be displayed.
Example:
< When there is no PTY data, frequency displayed on the
first line, and "NO PTY" appears on the second line.
RT (Radio Text)
When you select RT, the news of stations composed of
up to 64 symbols will be displayed.
If there is no RT data, "NO RT" will be displayed.
Example:
< When there is no RT data, frequency displayed on the
first line, and "NO RT" appears on the second line.
CT (Clock Time)
This displays the current date and time.
Example:
< When there is no CT data, frequency displayed on the
first line, and "NO CT" appears on the second line.
RDS CT (Clock Time) mode
The CT data is supplied by the RDS station and should
always be accurate. When you set the RDS CT mode
to on, the clock setting of the SR-80iDAB RDS will be
adjusted automatically according to this data. Therefore,
if you tune in a RDS station that is broadcasting incorrect
CT data, the clock might be innacurately adjusted, and
that could eventually affect timer operation.
< The RDS CT mode is set to off in the factory default
setting.
Turning the RDS CT mode on or off
1. In RDS mode, press and hold the INFO button for
more than 2 seconds.
The RDS CT menu appears.
2. Press the TUNING (. or /) button to select
on or off.
