    EMOVAL AND EPLACEMENT ROCEDURES This chapter provides removal and replacement assembly procedures for the Compaq Aero 8000 H/PC Professional. 1.1 Electrostatic Discharge A discharge of static electricity from your body or other conductor may damage system boards or other electrostatic-sensitive devices. This type of damage may reduce the life expectancy of the devices.

    1.2.2 Screws The screws used in the Compaq Aero 8000 H/PC Pro are not interchangeable. If an incorrect screw is used during the reassembly process, it can damage the unit. Before beginning any of these procedures, be sure to turn off the power to the device and remove any attached devices; then disconnect the power cable from the electrical outlet (if in use).

Pull the keyboard up toward the screen to free the bottom portion of the keyboard. CAUTION: The keyboard is attached to the unit by a ribbon cable.
