Spikes and damping feet

The Sapphire floor standing speaker is equipped with a special base plate optimized for
mechanical and acoustical properties. The included floor spikes or damping feet may
either be effectively used when setting up the Sapphire.
Using spikes
Spikes ensure a very solid placement and are suitable for use on carpeted or any solid
surface floors. A total of four spikes per loudspeaker are included, each adjustable in
height, thus enabling a solid and level base on any floor, including uneven surfaces.
CAUTION
Spikes with sharp peaks
The sharp peaks of the spikes may cause injuries and damage sensitive surfaces like
hardwood flooring or tile.
Be careful when handling the loudspeakers.
Place plates between the spikes and the surface to protect the underlying surface.
(Note: The spike will not destroy a carpet surface.)
Mounting the spikes:
1. Screw in the spikes (four per loudspeaker) to half of the thread depth and tighten
each with the enclosed locking nuts.
2. When the loudspeaker is positioned properly (see following sections), adjust the
spikes for a solid placement if needed:
a. Untighten the locking nut of the spike you want to adjust.
b. Adjust the spike for a solid placement.
c. Tighten the locking nut again.
