On the remaining cluster nodes, run Cluster Administrator and evict the failed
cluster node by right-clicking the failed node and selecting Evict Node.

Make sure that the replacement cluster node is physically disconnected from the
PowerVault storage system.
4.
Power on the replacement server and install Windows 2000 Datacenter Server,
along with the latest Service Pack.
5.
Reboot the system.
6.
Install and configure the following software and configuration settings:
NIC drivers
HBA driver
IP addresses
See Chapter 6, "Configuring the System Software,"for information on installing
the drivers and assigning the correct IP addresses.

Install the tape device drivers and backup application program (if applicable).
8.
Reinstall the Service Pack, if needed.
9.
Reboot the system.
10. Make sure Windows 2000 is configured properly.
11. Shut down Windows 2000 and power down the system.
12. Connect the high-speed serial data connector (HSSDC) cables from each HBA to
the PowerVault 65xF and/or 630F storage system either directly or through the
PowerVault switches.
See Chapter 4, "Cabling the Cluster Hardware,"for more information on cabling
the HBAs.
13. Power on the replacement cluster node. If a backup is not available, install
Cluster Administrator and then go to step 15.
14. Using the most current tape backup, restore the cluster node from the tape
backup (including the Windows registry files) and restart the system.
15. Use Cluster Administrator to verify that the node rejoins the cluster.
16. Check the Windows Event Viewer to ensure that no errors are encountered.
17 . Reinstall all of the application programs (such as Simple Query Language [SQL]
Server or Internet Information Server [IIS]) on the new cluster node (if a tape
backup is not available).
18. Install any additional service packs or hotfixes.
19. Test the failover capabilities of the cluster resources on the new cluster node.
