13. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

TROUBLE
Excessive Vibration
Not Cutting Clean
Gear Box Overheating
Gear Box Noisy

OPERATION
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Check gearbox bolts.
2. Check to see if blades are
free swinging.
3. Check for even wear on each
blade tip. Were both blades
changed at the same time?
4. Blade broken.
5. Blade carrier bent.
6. Blade hub not properly
seated on shaft.
7. New blade or bolts matched
with worn blade or bolts.
1. Blades dull.
2. Carrier RPM too low.
3. Ground speed too fast.
4. Blades locked back.
5. Blades riding up due to
blade bolt wear or loose bolts.
1. Low on lubricant.
2. Improper type lubricant.
3. Excessive trash build-up
4. Bearing or gears set up
1. Rough Gears.
2. Worn Bearing.

POSSIBLE REMEDY
Tighten if loose.
Free Blades so they
swing.
Weigh Blades.
Weight should be within 1 o
within 1 oz.
Always replace
both blades.
Replace blades, in set.
Replace carrier.
Remove hub, check
tapered shaft, clean and replace.
Replace blades or bolts
in sets.
Sharpen or replace blades.
Hydraulic flow of mower motor
power unit output are not compatible.

Reduce ground speed
