Disconnect the fan cable from the system board (8), and then remove the heat sink (9).
NOTE:
board(1), (2), and (3), and the heat sink components (4), (5), and (6) each time the heat sink is
removed. Replacement thermal material is included with all heat sink, system board, and processor
spare part kits.
NOTE:
apply to computers with discrete subsystem memory. Step 7 shows how to remove the fan from
the heat sink.

Position the computer right-side up with the front toward you.

Following the sequence stamped into the heat sink, loosen the five screws (1), (2), (3), (4), (5)
around the processor.
