The diagnostic test program is downloaded to check if it operates
normally.
For the test program, "abcde" is written to the address 0478d of
AC-3 Decoder (IC104).
Checking is made if the data written to the address 0478d from the
host is rewritten by the operation of this program.
To operate the download program, the Test Tone Input mode is set
but it is not output externally because the mute is applied.
If the download program does not operate, no data is written and
accordingly the write/read data mismatch error occurs and the er-
ror code 05 is output.
(10-5) AC-3 DSP SRAM (IC105) Check
SRAM (IC105) for AC-3 Decoder (IC104) is checked by Decoder
Error 03: Command writing error
11: Serial receiving error
14: Download error
55: AC-3 Decoder (IC104) serial transmit interruption is not
detected
57: AC-3 Decoder (IC104) – SRAM (IC105) data bus error
58: AC-3 Decoder (IC104) – SRAM (IC105) address bus

93: Interruption due to time over (about 1 second)
SRAM (IC105) check program is downloaded to the AC-3 De-
coder (IC104), then the operation result is returned.
The following two checks are executed.
(1) Data check: "00", "55", "AA", "FF" are written/read to ad-
dress 7100h.
(2) Address check: 7FFE bytes of "FF", "55", "00", "FF", "55",
"00", ... are written from address 7100h sequentially, then they
are read for checking.
The check results are read from the register in the decoder.If the
check end is not returned within 1 second, the time over error oc-
curs.

55: AC-3 Decoder (IC104) serial transmit interruption is not
detected
AC-3 Decoder (IC104) test tones are output in the order of left,
right, left surrounding, right surrounding, and center channels.
Then, the test tones are output simultaneously from left and right
channels, and left and right surrounding channels respectively us-
ing the MGA.
If no error is found, the message is displayed to prompt for key
entry.

AC-3 bit stream data stored in ROM (IC803) are transferred to the
AV Decoder (IC203) via ARP (IC806), and the decoded audio data
are output from AC-3 DAC (IC203 – 205) via AC-3 DSP.
If no error is found, the message is displayed to prompt for key
entry.

45: AC-3 DAC (IC204) (for surrounding) serial transfer

55: AC-3 Decoder (IC104) serial transmit interruption is not

The test tone is output from the front channel by turning on the
analog gain switch. To make sure, the test tone is again output by
turning off the analog gain switch.
Note that the first tone becomes large because of increased gain.
If no error is found, the message is displayed to prompt for key
entry.
