Setting the Jumpers
Jumpers are small plastic "boxes" that act as a switch. When installed on two pins, the switch is "on". When
installed on one pin, the switch is "off".
You will need a pair of needle-nose pliers to install or remove pins.
Jumper 1 – Sensitivity
1) To reduce the Motion Sensor detection range by
approximately 33%, carefully remove the left-most jumper
from the single pin it is installed on and reinstall it on both
pins.
2) Tap the Set button on Motion Sensor
3) Wait 10 seconds, and then activate motion to establish the
new setting
Jumper 2 – Disable LED
1) To disable the LED (but will still operate during setup),
install Jumper 2 on both pins
2) Tap the Set button on Motion Sensor
3) Wait 10 seconds, and then activate motion to establish the
new setting
Jumper 3 – Night-Only Mode
1) If you wish to have Motion Sensor operate only when it is dark, install Jumper 3 on both pins
2) Tap the Set button on Motion Sensor
3) Wait 10 seconds, and then activate motion to establish the new setting
NOTE: It takes 3.5 minutes (or seven Set button taps) to detect the difference between night and day. See "Right-
Dial – Day/Night Threshold" in Adjusting the Modes.
Jumper 4 – On-Only Mode
1) If you wish to disable the Automatic Off Countdown (not send OFF commands to Responders), install
Jumper 4 on both pins
2) Tap the Set button on Motion Sensor
3) Wait 10 seconds, and then activate motion to establish the new setting
Jumper 5 – Remote (Software) Management
1) If you wish to manage the Motion Sensor settings via INSTEON software, install Jumper 5 on both pins
2) Press & hold the Set button on Motion Sensor to enter Linking Mode and allow the software to access the
