  • Page 7 ASSEMBLY NOTE: Before mounting this rotary broom on your tractor, your tractor must be equipped with an HTA Model QH5000 Quick Hitch. : Before beginning assembly of this subf rame, please read the instructions through completely and familiarize yourself with all the parts. After completing assembly, torque all bolts according to the torque specification table on page 21.
  • Page 8 STEP 2: ATTACHING BROOM TO TRACTOR a) Insert driveline half (with quick connect yoke) over broom driveline half. Set driveline on its support. NOTE: Driveline sliding surfaces must be greased. b) Insert male quick hitch (fig.3, item 1) into broom female hitch (fig.3, item 2) and place male quick hitch lever (fig.3, item 3) fully forward in "locked"...
  • Page 9 ASSEMBLY STEP 3 : OPTIONAL CASTER WHEEL INSTALLATION NOTICE Caster wheels are required for lawn thatching and to prevent gouging . Remove pin (fig.5, item 1 ) and hairpin from each caster wheel (fig.5, item 3). Select desired number of spacer sleeves (fig.5, item 2) to remain on bottom portion of caster wheel (see application page 10).

    OPERATION (continued) OPERATING THE ROTARY BROOM 1 . Read the operator's manual carefully. Be thoroughly familiar with the controls and proper use of the equipment. 2. Do not allow anyone other than the operator on the tractor. Do not allow any rider on the attachment.
  • Page 12 MAINTENANCE SERVICE AND STORAGE 1. Never store the tractor with fuel in the fuel tank inside a building where open flames or sparks are present. Allow the engine to cool before storing in any enclosure. 2. Avoid exposing broom bristles to direct sunlight for long periods.

    MAINTENANCE BRUSH REPLACEMENT a) Stop tractor engine, set parking brake and remove ignition key. b) Remove the 1/2" x 1 3/4" bolt (fig.1, item 1) from each broom side plate (fig.1, item 2) and remove the eight bolts (fig.1, item 3) which secures each side plate to broom housing.
  • Page 14 Set broom in transport position. Stop tractor engine, set parking brake and remove ignition key. Set broom storage stands in most extended position so that stands extends the broom bristles. Remove hair pin (fig.1, item 1) from welded sleeve on right hand side of broom mounting bracket.
