The following features are either unique to TOSHIBA computers or are
advanced features, which make the computer more convenient to use.

Press this button to launch an application
automatically. The default is TOSHIBA Console.
Key combinations let you quickly modify the
system configuration directly from the keyboard
without running a system configuration program.
This feature automatically cuts off power to the
internal display when there is no input from the
keyboard or pointing device for a time specified.
Power is restored when any key is pressed or
when there is input from a pointing device. You
can specify the time in the Turn off monitor item
of the Power Save Mode window in TOSHIBA
Power Saver.
This feature automatically cuts off power to the
hard disk drive when it is not accessed for a time
specified. Power is restored when the hard disk
is accessed. You can specify the time in the Turn
off hard disks item of the Power Save Mode
window in TOSHIBA Power Saver.
This feature lets you turn off the power without
exiting from your software. The contents of main
memory is saved to the hard disk, when you turn
on the power again, you can continue working
right where you left off. Refer to the Turning off
the power section in Chapter 3, Getting Started,
for details.
If you have to interrupt your work, you can turn
off the power without exiting from your software.
Data is maintained in the computer's main
memory. When you turn on the power again, you
can continue working right where you left off.
This feature automatically shuts down the
system in standby mode or Hibernation mode
when there is no input or hardware access for a
time specified. You can specify the time and
select either System Standby or System
Hibernate in the System standby and System
hibernate item of the Power Save Mode window
in TOSHIBA Power Saver.
