WORK VISE FOR 7723/7724 PORTA-BAND SAW
Please make certain that the person who is to use this equipment carefully
reads and understands these instructions before starting operations.
Model 5724 Work Vise is designed for use with Porter-Cable Model 7723 or
7724 Porta-Band© saw. The following shapes may be cut, up to the
maximum sizes listed:
Rounds - 4
Cutting of other shapes is not recommended

    (A) Fig. 2 (Torque: 40 to 50 in. lbs.) furnished with Model 5724. 3. Reassemble knob (C) Fig. 1, using two longer mounting screws furnished with Model 5724. 4. Position power cord to slot (B) Fig. 2. OPERATION Disconnect saw from power source.
  • Page 3 Fig. 1 Fig. 2 The workpiece must be secured to support the weight of the work vise and the band saw. 2. Position the work vise to the workpiece and secure by tightening the clamp screw firmly (See Figs. 3 and 3a). The clamp must support the band saw.
  • Page 4 Fig. 3 3. Attach band saw to work vise (see Fig. 4): Keep hands away from saw blade when attaching and removing band saw. A. Insert mounting bracket pin (A) through hole (B) in work vise. B. Install safety clip (C) and gently lower saw until it rests on workpiece. Safety clip must be installed to prevent separation of band saw from work vise during operation.

    Fig. 4 MAKING THE CUT Make sure band saw trigger switch is in OFF position. Connect saw to power source. Only use the vise at heights where a firm grip can be maintained on the saw handle throughout the cut. Always wear eye protection to minimize the risk of eye injury.
