ART200AM
Architects' & Engineers' Specifications
The amplified loudspeaker/mixer system shall be
a self-contained unit, housed in a reinforced polypro-
pylene enclosure and consisting of the following sub-
systems: (1) vented two-way loudspeaker system, (2)
integrated power amplifiers and crossover network,
(3) integrated mic/line mixer with 4-band equalizer.
The low-frequency driver shall be a 12 inch
(300mm) cone type loudspeaker having a voice coil
that is at least 2 inches (50mm) in diameter. The driver
shall present a load that is not less than 16Ω . It
shall be rated to continuously handle band-limited
pink noise at a power input of 120W RMS and peak
inputs of 480W RMS.
The high frequency section shall consist of a 90°
x 70°, constant-directivity polynomial horn having a
1 inch (25mm) entry and horn loaded compression
driver. The compression driver shall have a diaphragm
at least 1 inch (25mm) diameter. The driver shall
present a load that is not less than 16Ω . It shall be
rated to continuously handle band-limited pink noise
at a power input of 40W RMS and peak inputs of
160W RMS.
The drivers shall be aligned with an analog circuit
and crossed over at 1.8kHz by a 4-pole network built
into the power amplifiers. Together they shall be
capable of producing 122dB SPL (1m, anechoic).
Two discrete amplifiers shall be provided, capa-
ble of continuously delivering 120W RMS to the
low-frequency driver and 40W RMS to the high-fre-
quency driver. Distortion shall be less than 0.1%
when measured at 1kHz and 10kHz. They shall be
equipped with a multi-function protection circuit
to peak limit and protect the loudspeakers from
overheating, over-excursion, overloads, short
circuits and extreme operating temperatures. An
indicator light shall illuminate when any aspect
of the protection circuit engages.
The integrated mixer shall have two actively bal-
anced mic/unbalanced line inputs. The balanced
mic inputs may also accept unbalanced signals.

Active Speaker System and Mixer
Each mic/line input shall have a continuously vari-
able, rotary gain/mix control that will accommo-
date an input signal between 5mV and 60mV. An
additional unbalanced, line-level input and rotary
level/mix control shall be provided to accommo-
date a 300mV signal. An unbalanced, line-level,
signal processing loop and a jack for connecting
a second unit shall also be provided. All audio
connectors shall be standard 1/4", two and three
conductor phone jacks. A 4-band equalizer shall
be provided for the two mic/line inputs. It shall
have filters at 60, 400, 2.5k and 12k Hertz with
a range of ±15dB, and adjustable by continuously
variable rotary controls.
The power supply shall be internal and connected
to 50 or 60Hz source current through a detachable
IEC power cord. It shall have an on/off switch, fuse
holder and threaded grounding screw on the rear
panel. AC voltage shall be selectable between 115
and 230VAC. The power supply shall draw a maximum
of 2A and illuminate an indicator light when on.
The reinforced polypropylene enclosure shall
have a volume of at least 1.65 cu. ft., be trapezoidal
shaped and equipped with a grille to protect the
cone driver. It shall weigh no more than 39.7 lbs.
(18kg). At least four M10 threaded sockets shall
be molded into the cabinet for attaching mounting
hardware, designed for the unit and available from
the manufacturer. The amplified loudspeaker/
mixer system shall be a model ART200AM manu-
factured by Mackie Industrial.
