MAINTENANCE
• Make sure the VCR is plugged into an AC outlet.
• Make sure the batteries are fresh, and properly installed.
• Safety tab has been removed from cassette (VCR will automatically
eject the tape).
• The VCR power must be turned off to activate timer recording.
• Clock is not set correctly.
• Programs entered incorrectly.
• Programs exceed the length of the cassette. Use the EP recording
speed for maximum programming.
• Safety tab has been removed from cassette.
• Snow or picture noise is normal during search, still, and slow
Playback.
• Head cleaning may be required.
• Tape is worn or of inferior quality - adjust tracking controls.
• Check antenna or cable connections.
• Power has been interrupted - reset the clock.
• Reset the clock.
• Push the reset switch (behind the cover on the VCR front) with a
sharp pointed instrument (pen, toothipick, etc.)
• Check that "1 TAPE DATA <ON>" is specified in the TAPE DATA
MENU. If <OFF> is specified, switch it to <ON>.
• Check the time at which the recording was made. Data is not stored
in memory when the recording time is less than 5 minutes (less than 15
minutes in the EP mode).
• The tape data memory is full. Delete unnecessary tape data.
• You cannot search for a program you want to view from the tape
recorded by another VCR.
• Rewind the tape to its start, then press MENU.
• <CATV 1> or <CATV 2> was specified for "1 CHANNEL" on the
CHANNEL PRESET screen. Select DSS for the DSS/CATV setting
during programming.
• Turn on the DSS box before the delayed recording starts.
