4 Press the STOP button to end playback.

Rewinding the tape

When the video cassette reaches the end of the tape, the VCR will stop automatically and rewind the
tape.
• If you press the POWER button while the tape is rewinding, the power will not shut off until the tape has been
completely rewound.
You may also rewind the tape manually at any time.
Manual Rewind
1 Press the STOP button to end playback. Click to see remote control illustration.
2 Press the REW button.
The VCR rewinds the tape all the way to the beginning, then stops.
• Press the EJECT button on the VCR to eject the tape.

If your videocassette has the safety tab removed, the VCR will stop and automatically rewind the videocassette,
eject it, and turn off the power when it reaches the end of the tape or a blank section of tape which lasts for
more than 30 seconds.
Note: This function works only in PLAYBACK mode, not in RECORDING mode.

To remove noise from the picture

Auto Tracking
Pressing the PLAY button starts the auto tracking feature, which automatically adjusts playback to eliminate
static lines or picture noise that may appear on the screen.
Manual Tracking
Scratched tapes or poorly recorded tapes may require additional picture adjustment. You can do this with the
remote control.
Note: To reactivate auto tracking, simply eject the tape and reinsert it into the VCR.
