Automatic gearbox - Geartronic*
An automatic gearbox with Geartronic differs
from an Automatic gearbox - Powershift (p.
276), in that it has a hydraulic torque con-
verter that transfers power from engine to
gearbox. It has two different gear modes -
Automatic and Manual.

Gear positions
Symbol "S" for Sport mode is ORANGE when
the mode is active.
P – Parking position
Select P when starting the engine or when
the car is parked.
•
In order to be able to move the gear
selector from P-position, the brake pedal
must first be depressed firmly.
The gearbox is mechanically blocked when
the P position is engaged. Apply the parking
brake as well, as a precaution - , see Parking
brake (p. 290).
