Be sure you turn the control knob
to Off when you finish cooking.
How to Set
Pushthe knob in and turn in either direction
to the setting you want.
At both Off and Hi the control clicks into
position. You may hear slight clicking sounds
during cooking, indicating the control is
keeping the power levelyou set.
Indicator
Lights (on radiant glass models only)
A HOTSURFACE or HOT COOKTOP (depending on
model) indicator light will glow when any radiant
element is hot and will remain on (evenafter the
unit is turned off) until the surface is cooled to
approximately 150°F.
A SURFACE UNIT on or BURNERON (depending
on model) indicator light will glow when any
surface unit is on.
NOTE:The SURFACE UNIT or BURNERON
indicator light may glow between the surface
control settings of Lo and Off, but there is no
power to the surface units.

The front surface units have 2 cooking sizes
(6" and 9") to select from so you can match
the size of the unit to the size of the cookware
you are using.
To use the small surface unit, turn the
control knob counterclockwise
to the SMALL
BURNERsettings.
To use the large surface unit, turn the control
knob clockwise to the LARGEBURNER
settings.

Using the Warming
Zone
(onsomemodels)

FOODPOISON HAZARD:Bacteria may grow in
food at temperatures below !40°£
Always start with hot food. Do not use warm
setting to heat cold food.
Do not use warm setting for more than 2
hours.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in
foodbome illness.
The WARMINGZONE,located in the back center
of the gldss surface,will keep hot, cooked food
dt serving temperdture. Always stdrt with hot
food. Do not useto heat cold food. Placing
uncooked or cold food on the WARMINGZONE
could result in foodborne illness.
Pushand turn the control knob to any desired
setting.
For best results,all foods on the WARMING
ZONEshould be covered with u lid or aluminum
foil. When warming pastries or breads, the
cover should be vented to allow moisture to
escape.
Usethe lowest setting for breads and pastries.
Use a medium setting for vegetables, sauces,
stews, cream soups, butter and chocolate. Use
the highest setting for soups (liquid)and hot
beverages. These initial suggested settings are
for reference only. The temperature, type and
amount of food, type of pan, and the time held
will affect the quality of the food.
Always use pot holders or oven mitts when
removing food from the WARMINGZONE,
since cookware and plates will be hot.
NOTE:Thesurface warmer will not glow red like
the cooking elements.
